My broken string

This week was … not interesting and fun. When I woke up Thursday morning I started to feel bad, the it got worse and I started to have fever and my throat was sore. I don’t know how I managed to get a cold. I waited for a few days, I thought it was gonna go away by itself. I took only paracetamol and some medicines for my throat. But it didn’t, so I started taking antibiotics. Now I feel a little better but it still didn’t get away. I hope it goes soon, cause this week I was supposed to be studying, but I couldn’t because I was not feeling well.

Friday I have my first driving class. It was so nice but scary. I am scared that I would hit someone’s car or that I am going on the other side of the road, but at least I can drive straight. If I position the car it’s okay, I can do it. I am happy with myself after my first driving session, but I hope I will get better at it and next time I will remember that the instructor is right next to me and nothing will happen so I won’t be so tense anymore.

After my driving class I went to pick up a guitar. I found a really cheap one online and I though I will buy it. I always wanted to learn how to play it, but I am not so optimistic. It’s really hard. Also, I managed to break one string. Only after a day. I am unbelievable I know. I will wait until my exam finish and then I will buy another strings and maybe ask for some help at the beginning. I have a few friends who know how to play it, so maybe it will be better if somebody teaches me first. If I don’t manage to learn, at least the guitar is an amazing decoration for my apartment *laughing*.

In this week I also tried to practice my graphic skills a little bit and tried to update the website. I didn’t do much, because at the same time I had some store orders I had to complete. But here it.
I made this photo manipulation using only textures. I love it. I used it as a phone wallpaper. (click on the image to see full size)

I made for you a double exposure tutorial which turned out very beautiful (I am not sure I made a good choice of photos, but you can do a lot better, I am sure) – click on the image to see the full tutorial. Also let me know if you try to do it.

As store orders I had two header images, but the person who ordered them wanted me to wait until I post them in the portfolio, one WordPress theme and 5 88×31 buttons. You can see them on my portfolio page:

And the last thing I had to do was to change the colors of a theme I made. I worked a bit on this because the theme is all images. Pim asked me if I could make it gold/brown to fit with the header image I made her. It was not problem for me. This is how it turned out. Click on the image to see the full size.

I am happy with the work I made, but I am happier when the people who order from me like the designs. It gives me a special feeling. I made a little work on the resources pages too I added 4 photoshop actions, 8 textures, 1 brushes pack, a self confidence article and I finally managed to make the about page. So go check them out. I hope they are useful for you. Also I added a chat box because my of my visitors are sending me emails because I don’t have a cbox. So we can chat now <3 Have a nice day and talk to you soon. Thank you Pim for advertising my webstore in your blog. You are so kind for doing that.

Look at all this creativity you’ve been doing lately! I love the designs you’ve done! They’re so pretty! Like you with guitar, I bought a ukulele in the hopes of getting good at it – but so far I’m pretty tone deaf! This fall I’m going to look up some youtube videos and hopefully learn more than just two chords.

Also, good LUCK with the driving. Driving is HARD, no joke! My fiance just got his license last year, and he still freaks out about hitting someone or getting hit. Take it seriously for sure, but also remember to breathe and go as slow as you need to with your learning! Keep us updated!

Oh no! Colds are evil! I hope you feel better soon!

Driving sounds scary…I still have to learn, but am so scared!

Lots of amazing stuff! You’re really talented with making graphics!

Omg your header graphic is SO pretty and the name of your site *__* I was just popping in to say hi and thank you again for stopping by my site, but WOW… I mean.. seriously. So pretty.

Driving gets easier as you go along, you don’t worry about everything so much BUT I really appreciate and think it’s WONDERFUL that you take the responsibility seriously. You’re going to be great :) Another little tip, when you start to freak out about the world around you, just tell yourself “slow and steady wins the race.” Be the tortoise! (from The Tortoise and the Hare) Just be cautious, observant, alert, and patient.

Also, I’m very sorry that you are sick. That is awful :( I hate getting sick. It’s even worse when you have a baby because you’re scared she’ll get sick, too. Then it’s a whole house of sickies. Lol. :)

Feel better soon and take care!! You’re going to be great, I just know it :) <3

I’m sorry to hear about the cold. I got one too earlier this week! Driving is pretty fun and at some point, you’ll get the hang of it like it’s a natural thing. Always be aware of your surrounding and keep your eye on the road :).

Good job on the progress so far! Keep it up!

I’m sorry that you haven’t been feeling well. I hope you feel better soon!

I remember when I first started driving. I was so nervous. But the more you do it, the better you’ll get.

Love your graphics!

I really hope you get better soon. I hate getting sick and not feeling like myself, I always think “wow I’ve taken feeling well and healthy for granted!!” Get well soon!

I still havent started to learn how to drive, I think it will be one of my goals soon :P I would really love to learn how to because it’d make going out so much easier especially long distances. I bet it is nerve wracking at the start.

Great job with the graphics, you are definitely very very talented <3

Oh no. I hope you start to feel a lot better soon. Feeling ill and trying to study is a very hard combination. :(

That’s great that you had a driving lesson. It can be really scary and many of the things you mentioned are fears that I had as well. Over time they have gotten less, because I have become more confident, but I still have a long way to go. Trying to judge where my car is on the road is taking some time haha.

Oh no, that is a shame you broke a string, hopefully you can get some more. You must have been rocking out pretty hard haha.

Your artworks look wonderful! :D

It’s great when people do really like the work you make for them. I always feel really anxious and unsure when I had tried to make things in the past. I am glad you could. :D

I hope you begin to enjoy driving a little bit more. :) When I drove for the first time, I was really nervous, too, because on the first day, I didn’t know anything about driving, but I was already on the wheel. :O I got the hang of it after a while, and I started to think less about the pressure coming from the instructor beside me, and I found myself having fun. I enjoy driving a lot, even though I still get nervous from time to time. I hope you start to feel the same way, too.

I think it’s awesome that you’re learning a musical instrument. Some people always say that they want to learn, but never actually get to picking up an instrument. You just have to practice and enjoy it, and think less about breaking strings. :) I broke the strings of my violin and banduria many times in the past, but that only means that I used the string too much and it’s all worn out and well-used (meaning I practiced!). It’s normal, and expected to have spares ready. Don’t let it stop you. :)

Your designs are really good! I love them. I especially like the one you made for Otaku-Box. It’s really nice to see all these eye candy. Keep up the great work!

Get well soon, Cristina! <3

I know that feeling of waking up one day and one’s throat is sharp and sore like knives and eating or the thought of eating hurts your very being. I had a throat infection on top of Bronchitis. It really sucked but I know that you’ll feel better :D

I don’t think I’ll learn to drive…ever since the car accident last December….Nearly died, but alive, I suppose now. I feel too paralyzed to even consider it. Oh well, I know you can do it for the both of us and do it proudly.

Anyhow, thank you for being so sweet and just understanding about my needs, plus you’re so wonderful to work with!

I haven’t really had a chance to work on my site much lately. My oldest sister and I are doing a baby shower this month for or middle sister.

Those graphic manipulations are beautiful! And I gotta look into that double exposure tutorial. I really like your design style :)

I just read your Self-Confidence Article…and I’m appalled….at how people (mostly males) are stupidly shallow: if someone is too fat, he’s ugly because it’s too fat; if someone is thin, it’s ugly becsuse it’s not curvy….keep holding your head high, girl, and ignore the truly ugly people. You’ve come out as a beautiful soul, as you prove im this blog and the article itself, they’ve come out as donkeys.

Oh wow! It’s been so long since I came across a graphic website like this one. They completely fazed out in a very short time ='(
I absolutely love your layout and the manipulations!
I miss getting into all this photoshop stuff.

Sorry to hear about your sore throat. Hopefully it’s better!
I don’t drive and I feel like I’d be too nervous to ever drive haha

Thank you for such a nice comment :) I hope you’re feeling better.
I know how to drive, but I don’t have a driver’s license. I live in an area known for it’s terrible drivers and I don’t have the patience to deal with them. Good luck! Most people I know broke a lot of strings while learning to play the guitar and violin (basically any string instrument). I’ve broken a few. :)

Your graphics/resources are incredible! You have really lovely designs.
I hope all is well!

Ohhh I hate it when I come down with a cold so suddenly! I hope you’re feeling better and good luck with studying, I know how hard it feels :(

The first driving lesson is bound to be scary, so that’s normal. You seem really eager to learn though so I think you will be fine after a few sessions.

Hey good luck with learning how to play the guitar! It’s going to be awesome and you’re going to have so much fun :)
